How a decentralized app helped turn protest into platform

Strategy Framework

  • ✘ The Brief

Publicing was a concept for a decentralized platform designed to document and share police misconduct in real time. Existing tools like body cams and FOIA laws were limited by the systems that controlled them. The goal was to imagine a transparent, community-driven alternative that used emerging tech to make accountability accessible and secure.

  • ✦ The Big Idea

What if truth could not be deleted? The concept turned blockchain into a civic tool, allowing users to anonymously upload footage, generate immutable reports, and visualize incidents across cities. Publicing aimed to move beyond protest into infrastructure, reframing safety as a collective, data-driven effort.

  • ➽ The Activation

I developed the brand and strategic framework for the platform concept, shaping its voice, design direction, and launch narrative. The awareness system envisioned street murals, projection takeovers, and campus teach-ins that built understanding of decentralized tools for justice. Partnerships with organizations like ACLU and Mapping Police Violence were identified to ground the idea in credibility.

  • ✿ The Impact

Publicing gained early interest from activist and civic-tech networks, sparking conversations around how decentralized tools could protect community data and challenge systemic opacity. The concept showed how design and storytelling can make complex technology feel human and actionable.
